In the past year I have made the switch to listening to a lot more podcasts. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed listening to the various conversations being had and I never expected to learn so many new and cool things from the pods I regularly listen to. In no particular order, here are some of the podcasts I have been really enjoying lately:
What Should I Read Next?
This is a podcast created by Anne Bogel where she discusses books and reading with her guests. I have found so many amazing new titles to read through this podcast and have learned so much about what reading can do to better your life. The conversations Anne has with her guests make you feel like you are sitting down to a coffee with a couple friends and just enjoying your time together.
Bon Appetit Foodcast
I already adore Bon Appetit’s YouTube channel and have tried many of their recipes myself so you can imagine how excited I was to find out they have a podcast as well. Listening to the discussions with the Bon Appetit staff as well as with restaurant owners and cookbook authors has provided some truly amazing and interesting insight into the cooking world which is something I find super interesting. What a great find!
Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend
This podcast is not only enjoyable because Conan is great at having interesting conversations with other celebrities but also because of the hilarious interactions Conan, his assistant, Sona, and his podcast producer, Matt, have. All across the board there are moments of hilarity and moments of seriousness that make this podcast something that I love listening to whether I know much about the guest beforehand or not.
Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard
Similar to Conan’s podcast, Dax Shepard sits down with celebrities as well as scholars who are experts in their field and have deeper conversations with them than are seen on cable talk shows. Dax and his co-host Monica also have an amazing chemistry throughout the podcast. Each episode never fails to deliver interesting stories into the lives and careers of their guest and the fact check at the end of each episode is absolutely priceless.
The Rewatchables
I love this podcast because it is essentially a celebration of the films that are timeless and are totally, you guessed it, rewatchable. Being able to listen to other people discuss the films they could watch over and over again and reliving the best moments of the films through their conversation is incredibly entertaining. They also research the films to provide some really cool fun facts that add to the awesomeness of the films they choose to cover in the show. As a huge movie lover, this podcast is a gold mine of entertainment for me. Also, if you like this kind of content, The Ringer has a lot of other great podcasts that I would also highly recommend!
