Anxious People by Fredrik Backman

Anxious People by Fredrik Backman was absolutely stellar in my opinion. The balance between the humor, seriousness, and dysfunctionality of the characters and their backstories was so well crafted and written.

The dialogue between the characters felt so organic and real. I cared about every single story line in the narrative and even though I wasn’t expecting plot twists, there were some pretty amazing and surprising moments that kept me invested in the progression of the plot.

I love Backman’s writing style. This book is full of heartwarming moments and wonderful lessons. It deals with human connection and the impact people have on each other. Backman has the impressive ability to showcase the human spirit. He gets under his character’s skin and conveys their thoughts and feelings in a way that makes us feel like we know them.

Reading this book reminded me of how important human connection is and how having empathy and compassion towards others and their life experiences is so important. I can not express my love for it enough. I teared up multiple times and the ending left me feeling so good. I would highly recommend this book to anyone.
